The four Cluster spacecraft have in the first months of operation crossed the frontside magnetospheric boundaries into the solar wind. This has made it possible to detemine boundary motions and separate time and space variations and has lead to renewed understanding of the solar wind generated processes at the Earth's magnetospheric boundaries
